Fireworks Photos
I’ve uploaded a set of fireworks photos to flickr. I took the pictures Friday night at Lake Oconee. Here’s my favorite. Enjoy!
New Yosemite Pictures
Uploaded some pictures to Flickr from a quick trip to Yosemite earlier this month. Here are a couple of my favorites:
This picture was taken near the top of Snow Creek Falls, which is on the north side of Tenaya Canyon. With a 200mm lens, I could see the hikers climbing up the cables on Half Dome.
This picture was taken in Yosemite Valley. This is a baby bear cub with his mom. The cub is an excellent tree climber and covered virtually every limb of this oak tree while I was watching.
Starry Pictures
I spent the first half of this week in Hilton Head. Each night the sky was clear. One could not walk onto the beach at night without noticing the overwhelming downpour of light coming from above. I grabbed the camera and the tripod and snapped the following pictures.
Here’s the first one. Probably over-exposed, as the stars are a bit exaggerated (54 seconds at f4 / 800 ISO).
The next night, I took these. First, a 46-second exposure looking out towards the beach:
Finally, here’s a 37-second exposure that I took looking down the beach towards a hotel:
Enjoy. If you have comments, please share them on flickr.
Jacob and Kate sharing the Mandolin together
Took this pic last night of Jacob and Kate playing with my mandolin together.
There’s a few more of flickr. If you can’t see them, send tfdavis a Friend invite on flickr and I’ll add you to my contacts list.
More Wyoming Pictures
More Wyoming Pictures are now on my Flickr account.
So far, I think this one is my favorite:
This was taken a few miles into the Death Canyon hike, just before you reach the pass that enters the canyon.
I’ve grouped all the photos from last week into a set on Flickr.
Grand Teton National Park Picture[s]
Just returned late last night from Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. I’ve got about 3.6 gigs of photos to process and upload, but not much time to do it. I’ll be posting the photos to my flickr account as I have time to do it (probably about one per day for the next year). In the mean time, here’s a teaser:

Check back on my flickr page frequently for updates.
Atlanta Zoo Pictures
I’ve uploaded a set of pictures from a trip Saturday to the Atlanta Zoo.
One of the pandas got out and posed for a picture with Jacob.
Speaking of Pandas, Miss China 2007 was at the Zoo doing some PR with the Pandas. (I don’t think I’ve ever said “speaking of Pandas” before).
Finally, can you guess what animal this is?
Full Set. Enjoy.
Cloudland Canyon State Park Hiking
On Saturday I drove up to Cloudland Canyon State Park. Cloudland Canyon is a very popular park about two hours north of Atlanta. The park features backcountry camping, and drive-in camping, as well as several lodges for large group activities.
According to the website, “hardy visitors” can hike down to the bottom of the canyon. Down at the bottom, you’ll see two waterfalls. I think they’re called waterfall 1 and waterfall 2. On Saturday, the coolest thing I saw was a hawk who was flying in circles above me while I ate lunch on the the north rim of the canyon.
Here are some pictures.
Update: Here’s a panorama view of the canyon that I stitched together from four separate pictures.
New Photo Galleries: April and “Best Of”
Hello loyal blog reader[s]. I have uploaded two new photo galleries to the photos section of this website. One is a top-level Favorite Pics or “Best Of” photo gallery. Currently there are about 800 pictures on the website, and only eight pictures in the “Favorites” gallery. That’s only about 1%. So, either I’m not taking very many good pictures, or my threshold for what should be in a “Favorites” gallery is too high. What do you think?
Also, I uploaded a few pictures for the month of April. Other than the weekend at the Tour De Georgia, April wasn’t a big photo month for us. There are a couple of cute pics of our new niece Charlie. [Congratulations, Amy, Kirk and Kenzie!]
